Device Technical Information
When you visit the site, we automatically collect certain “Device Information” including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. Google Analytics is installed on the site to track actions occurring on the site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

If you choose to create a logon account on the Your Year website, then that account will contain the information necessary for an order (see order below), but not payment information, plus an account name and password of your choosing. You may logon to your account and view and/or change your account information although you will not be able to view your password, only reset it. Passwords are stored within the servers in an encoded format [TBC] so that even the system administrators cannot normally read them. You are reminded however to choose a strong password and the password change process will guide you on choosing a good password.
The information you share with us relating to your order, including your email address, delivery address (see delivery), contact phone number and any product specific personalisation information, is to allow us to complete your order and is not shared with anyone outside of YourYear. If there is a problem with your order or we have a question about it we will contact you by email or phone (if you have provided us with your number).
Comments and Feedback
If you choose to send us feedback by the form or email we may choose to use this information to improve our customer service or gain insights into your material usage for the purposes of developing our goods and services. Please remember that comments on our social media pages (excluding direct messages) along with any posts on our forum are there for anyone to see.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

We combine shopping history of many customers to identify trends and ensure we keep up with demand or develop new products and services. We use aggregated personal data for internal business reports (inc. financial reporting), forecasting sales and growth.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Your access to order, delivery, comment information is secured via an industry standard User login and password. The system will help you choose a good password but you should be aware that if you allow someone else to access the device used for logging onto the YourYear website then they to may be able to access your information, particularly if you have not logged off from the site .
Our website uses https, which means that anything sent between your device and our servers will be encrypted, preventing others from snooping in on your data. The SSL certificate tells you that pages you visit on our website are provided by us. All of our payment processing is handled by PayPal and we do not store any credit card details on our systems.
Our website is hosted in secure data centres within the UK run by a third party [privacy statement] . Access to these services are restricted internally. Any information we have stored on databases is encrypted by default. We take backups of our website and associated services every day, and these are kept for up to 7 days. We do not use any personal information during any internal testing of our website.
Who we share your data with
How long we retain your data
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
